HOW DOES MYOFASCIA CAUSE PAIN & DYSFUNCTION?

Myofascia = muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues.

Myofscia can become dysfunctional through activity or lack of! Poor posture, over / under use and injury are some of the reasons why this happens.

Once the myofascia is not operating properly, it cannot receive the nutrients it needs, get rid of wastes or most importantly, perform its function. This can result in a multitude of problems which can directly or indirectly lead to pain. The following is a list of some of the causes of pain and dysfunction and what it may feel like to the client:

Trigger points burning or aching pain down a limb or to another part of the body.

Ischemic tissue joints with tight, restricted movements.

Nerve entrapment / compression pins & needles, tingling sensations.

Muscles with increased / decreased tone tired, overworked muscles and instability of joints.

Muscle spasm twitching, aching muscles, can spasm when doing small activities

Poor muscle recruitment hard to use or activate some muscles or always overuse the same ones
